Inside the heavy wire construction fence, the sparkle is starting to show at the entryway to the nearly complete student center on the Northwest College campus.
It is an inviting tease of coming attractions.
A tease because the green grass of newly rolled out sod will be brown with winter when the building is officially unveiled at the end of the fall semester or the start of the 2025 spring semester.
Still, the picture taking shape is, well, sparkling. Grass, trees and other plantings have almost magically appeared midst a network of new, wide concrete walkways right off Seventh Street.
Landscaping is still a work in progress. But, it is such a game changer.
Not so long ago, the student center was rising out of a tangle of scuffed brown dirt and rock. Today, it is a picture of promise.
And that’s the essence of invitation — to students, campus and community to feel the vibrancy and to share in it.
