A Cody man is currently jailed and awaiting transport to southern California, where he’s alleged to have committed sex crimes against two children years ago.

Prosecutors in San Diego County, California, have charged 44-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Brock with nine felony counts of lewd acts upon a child, including two instances in which he’s alleged to have used force.

Although the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office filed the charges recently, they relate to conduct that allegedly took place between late 2011 and early 2016. Brock was between 32 and 36 years old during that time period, and he is alleged to have victimized two different girls who were both under the age of 14.

The complaint offers few details, but alleges Brock touched one child’s breasts or genitals at least seven separate times. That includes two instances in late 2015 or early 2016 in which Brock is alleged to have digitally penetrated the girl by using “force, violence, duress, menace and fear of immediate and unlawful bodily injury on the victim and another person.”

While the girl’s age is not listed in the document, the timeline and charges indicate she was no more than 9 years old when the first touching allegedly occurred.

The charge related to the second alleged victim stems from the summer of 2013. It alleges that Brock caused the child to sexually touch his genitals.

A Superior Court judge in San Diego County issued a warrant for Brock’s arrest on April 25, listing a $1.2 million bond. Park County Sheriff’s deputies and agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation arrested Brock on the afternoon of May 13, after pulling him over on Road 2AB east of Cody.

His bail was initially set at $50,000 in Park County Circuit Court, but bond became irrelevant the following day, as Brock agreed to waive formal extradition proceedings and to be transported to California.

As of Wednesday, he remained in the Park County Detention Center, waiting to be taken to San Diego County.
