Posted

Community members are invited to the Cody Library on Monday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m. for an engaging session featuring Bob Richard and Robyn Cutter. Explore the intricacies of collecting, organizing, sharing and publishing family history and gain valuable tools and motivation to pursue this meaningful life goal.

Bob Richard, deeply connected to Cody, is the author of over a dozen volumes on family and local history. His diverse background includes roles as a rancher, businessman, decorated combat aviator, non-profit executive, father of four, wildlife photographer and guide and Yellowstone horse ranger. Richard’s published works encompass memoirs from his own life, self-guided tours of the region, and biographies of his Richard and Frost family members.

Robyn Cutter, archivist at the Park County Archives, brings expertise in digital preservation, newspapers, and historic preservation to the discussion. Collaborating with Richard on multiple publications, Cutter provides a wealth of Cody and Park County knowledge, coupled with research skills to enhance the family history journey.

Throughout the event, Richard and Cutter will guide participants on organizational strategies, content inclusion in family histories, effective storytelling techniques (with or without technology) and the diverse array of publishing options available.

This enriching and free event is open to the public. For inquiries, please contact the Cody Library at 307-527-1880 or cody@parkcountylibrary.org.
