December 5, 2022
The governing body of the City of Powell met in regular session at 6:00 p.m. on December 5, 2022 in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Mayor John Wetzel called the meeting to order and the following were present: Council Members Tim Sapp, Floyd Young, Steven Lensegrav, Lesli Spencer, Zane Logan and Geoff Hovivian.
City Officials: Police Chief Roy Eckerdt, City Clerk Tiffany Brando, City Attorney Sandee Kitchen and Deputy City Attorney Scott Kath.
Approval of Agenda: Councilman Lensegrav moved to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Councilman Sapp, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED.
Approval of November 21, 2022 minutes: Councilman Young moved to approve as presented, seconded by Councilman Logan, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED.
Bills and Claims: Councilman Lensegrav made a motion the bills be allowed and authorize the Treasurer to draw warrants for payment of the same, seconded by Councilwoman Spencer, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED.
PUBLIC HEARING 6:00 PM: Re-Zone Request Lot 11 and Lot 12 and the N. 100’ of Lot 9 and Lot 10, Block 42, O.T. Powell (255 and 227 N Day St.) from Business General (B-G) to Residential General (R-G). Attorney Kath opened the hearing at 6:01 p.m., no comments, closed 6:02 p.m. Attorney Kath discussed recommendations from DRC and Planning & Zoning.
Ordinance No. 4, 2022: An Ordinance to Change the Zoning Designation of Lots 11, 12 and the N. 100’ of Lots 9 and 10, Block 42, Original Town of Powell, From B-G, General Business District, to R-G, General Residential District. Robert Rodriquez representing the owner spoke on goal is to clean up property and look at putting multi-family homes in the future. Councilman Young moved to approve on first reading, seconded by Councilman Hovivian, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED.
There being no further business to be considered at this meeting, Councilman Logan moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilwoman Spencer, unanimous approval, MOTION CARRIED. Mayor Wetzel adjourned the regular meeting at 6:06 p.m.
