Despite ear-biting temperatures, more than 2,325 parade (and candy) enthusiasts took to Powell’s main street Saturday evening to be dazzled by the entries in the annual holiday season lighted parade.
With 34 entries in the parade competition, judges were tasked to pick the top three creations. Victoria’s School of Dance (photo on Page 8) was chosen for the first place prize. The theme was the “Polar Express,” said school owner Victoria Danovsky.
They definitely had the right temperature for their theme. The students thought it would be fun to wear pajamas, but with the temperature south of pleasant, they all wore ski outfits under jammies, which were three sizes too large, Danovsky said.
Ryno Rentals’ RZR Riders won second place and the Flying O Horses took third prize.
