Chancey Williams to headline Park County Fair

Chancey Williams is coming to Powell. The rising star of country music is headlining the Park County Fair on July 28, 2022.

Williams, who grew up on a ranch in Moorcroft, is a popular performer in the Cowboy State.

A Wyoming native, Williams is known as a scholar, an athlete and a stellar musician. A rodeo saddle-bronc rider on the professional circuit, Williams participated in the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

“He’s a Wyoming guy,” said William Wood, Park County events manager, who also manages the fair. “He’s pretty popular on the country side of things.”

Wood confirmed Williams is appearing at the fair’s Grandstand concert on July 28. The show starts at 7 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. Tickets to see Williams are $15 for general admission, $20 for box seats, and $30 for floor.

“They’ve got Powell on the map for their touring schedule,” Wood said, pointing out Williams appeared at the Park County Fair more than three years ago.

Williams grew up riding horses in Wyoming. He then attended school at Casper College and the University of Wyoming, where he earned several degrees.

Although he has a master’s degree in public administration, the talented country music singer/songwriter and musician was attracted back to the stage as a performer. He has toured with Toby Keith and Cody Johnson, and is often compared with Chris LeDoux, another country music artist with professional rodeo experience.

iHeartRadio recognized Williams as its 2022 Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards Entertainer of the year. He also received accolades as Songwriter of the Year for “The Saint”

The Park County Fair will be held July 26-30. The Grandstand Event concert is Thursday, July 28, with free admission until 1 p.m.
