Candy Lou Dubich of Cody died on Feb. 12, 2011 after a heroic battle with cancer. She was 59.

Candy was born to William and Irene Hickman on May 20, 1951 in Hammond, Ind.

Growing up, she loved ballet, waterskiing and ice skating. She was also an excellent student. Her hobbies included baking, gardening, art, decorating, designing and reading. She was very creative and loved creating Halloween costumes and forcing her husband, John, to wear them. Candy loved dancing with John as well as spending time with her family. She attended the Mt. Blues Festival regularly.

She is survived by her husband, John; son, Chris Macklin; daughter, Anna Dubich; granddaughter, Sierra; father, William Hickman; sisters, Wendy Jendreas and Dawn Waterous; aunt, Ann Jones; and uncle, Rick Carlson.

Memorial donations in Candy’s name may be made to The American Cancer Society and the local humane society.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held at Ballard Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 17 from noon to 2 p.m. Following visitation, cremation will take place.
