Itching to show off some sweet bike tricks? Or is your bicycle in need of a tuneup?
Then consider making plans to attend Saturday’s “Bike Rodeo” at the Grace Point church parking lot.
“We’re going to have stunts and we’re going to have food and we’re going to have all kinds of great stuff,” said organizer Ben Borcher.
The free event begins at 10 a.m., with basic bike inspection and maintenance offered until 11:30 a.m. The LauraLynn Project will also be on hand — giving away used bikes — and a live DJ will be playing music.
Meanwhile, a series of stunt contests will kick off at 10:30 a.m. All ages, abilities and bike types are welcome to participate — with helmets required for all competitors. Contest winners will be announced as lunch is served, around 11:45 a.m.
The meal will be followed by a bike safety clinic at 12:30 p.m. and the entire rodeo will wrap up at 1 p.m.
Borcher said he isn’t sure how many people will attend this first-ever event, but everyone is welcome.
“Just come and ride your bikes,” he said, “because it’s going to be pretty amazing, I think.”
Grace Point is located at 550 Kattenhorn Dr., on Powell’s north side.
