From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Cody Country Art League, artist Ron Rogers will offer a drawing class on composition with value, structure and perspective.
This class is designed with easy to understand hands-on instruction, and exercises for all artists from novice to accomplished.
How composition is used determines the strength or weakness of artwork, according to a description of Saturday’s class. It’s designed “to better understand, and strengthen your drawing and art skills with the use and application of composition.”
In the first part of the class, using hands-on exercises, students will learn composition using value and structure. In the second part of the class, Rogers will add instruction on one, two, three point and atmospheric perspective — and how to use it to create stronger compositions from the natural world or photographic reference.
“Seeing and understanding what we are looking at and how to arrange it are key to a better work of art,” says the description.
The cost is $95, or $85.50 for art league members.
