American Legion supports HS Rodeo

The American Legion Hughes-Pittinger Post 26 of Powell would like to congratulate Audrey Kremer, Caden Gines and Kyle Cheney on their 2022 State High School Rodeo participation.

Kremer participated in barrel racing and breakaway roping, Gines participated in team roping and tie-down calf roping and Cheney participated in bull riding.

Kremer, from Cody, finished in 26th place in breakaway roping and 46th in team roping at the state finals in Buffalo in June.

Gines finished in 47th in team roping and 16th in tie-down calf roping.

Cheney finished seventh in bull riding, but his overall scores from the season earned him a spot at the national finals in Gillette July 17-23.

The American Legion Department of Wyoming is the only American Legion Department to be directly connected with the High School Rodeo throughout the United States.

They have proudly done so since the early 1950’s.

In 2021 the National Commander and National Vice Commander were recognized and honored at the state finals in Douglas.

They participated in the scholarship judging and were honored to carry the American Legion Rodeo Flag as well.

The Department of Wyoming American Legion is proud of all its posts and members for the support and dedication they provide to this great event.
