Golf, Fun Run attract many

A total of 54 golfers entered the alumni golf tournament at Powell Golf Club last weekend. Competitors used a Peoria handicap system for their teams.

The winning foursome, representing the Class of 1966, consisted of Janice Cooley Bailey, Susan Clifton VandenBoom, David Jackson and Jay VandenBoom with a score of 67. Three strokes back was the group of Travis Tate, Randy Tate, Gina Tate and Audreya Hoffman, which earned second place by virtue of a scorecard playoff.

Also coming in with a 70 was the threesome of Don Easton, Diane Henry and Clare Argento.

Winners of the flag prizes included Jeff Durham (longest putt, hole 1), Rhonda Whitlock (longest drive, hole 3), Gary Baxter (closest to the pin, hole 4), T.J. Green (longest putt, hole 12), Janice Bailey (longest drive, hole 16), Parke Price (closest to the pin, hole 17) and Jay VandenBoom (closest in two, hole 18).

Flag prizes were sponsored by First National Bank, Fremont Motor and Garvin Motors.

Fun Run results
