With a hoot and a holler, the annual Clark Jubilee celebratory parade and rodeo on Saturday, June 22 faded into the sunset, but plans for a bigger event are in the works for next year. The parade theme was, "Wild West."

Entrants included longtime Clark resident Von Ringler, who has ridden in the annual parade nearly 40 years. He rode his famous steed, "Zig Zag," who walked proudly for roughly 100 spectators. Ringler, well-known as a man who is "all cowboy," received a blue ribbon for "Best Theme" including tack and attire.

The parade, which included seven units from the Clark Fire Department, began at the fire hall, then went by the Clark Pioneer Recreation Center. Spectators applauded and cheered as entrants made two passes past the rec center. Many attendees shouted their thanks to the Clark volunteers.

The procession was led by American Legion Post 84 of nearby Belfry, Montana, which has Clarkites among its members. Staffing the trailer were Honie Tolman, Don Tolman, Joe Witty, Mike Shipman, Kristen Autonides, Dave Connell and Sam Kuntz. At the beginning of the parade, the entry stopped and those aboard the float and spectators recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

The parade also included Kallie Rae Hoffert aboard her trusty horse, "Cowboy," led by her mother, Emy. Kallie was awarded a blue ribbon. Also receiving a blue ribbon were Marlo Schimpf and Willow Connell for their entry as renegade rodeo clowns making off with a bull.
Rancher Jerry Hill served as announcer for the parade and the rodeo. The latter had a number of barrel race entrants.
