A pair of attention-catching letters

Dear Editor:

In the Jan. 18 Tribune, two letters caught our eye and we believe we can mention them both here.

The first letter was by Martin Garhart telling us that the TRUMP WON sign needs to come down. We agree that it is probably time for it to come down but only because it has been there long enough that people don’t even see it anymore. Even newcomers or visitors to the area will see TRUMP and ignore it or think, “Yes!” We don’t know who put the sign up but we do believe that most people will know it is the product of one person or one small group.

Maybe a new sign should read: “Welcome to Wyoming. Where Real America Still Lives!”

We don’t know if Trump won the election because no court would allow the presentation of evidence. Evidence is where all courts begin their process. For better, or worse, they must hear it or see it to decide whether it is legitimate or not.

Aside from that, we have heard and read about thousands of dead people voting and people voting more than once or the mishandling of ballots, many illegally destroyed. At the very least there were many documented instances of questionable practices during the 2020 election.

We also agree with Jennifer Lejeune, who says that people are too easily offended by everything. With cancel culture lurking around every corner, it is hard to be yourself anymore. While we occasionally hear things that offend us, we don’t go around making a big deal about it. After all, we can avoid the person or the business or just change the channel. Keeping some things to yourself is the adult way to handle many situations. We are tired of seeing so much childish behavior by adults being rewarded.

Sincerely,

Linda and Bob Graff
