The Wyoming Cowboy men’s basketball team hit the road heading to Utah State on Tuesday evening in an 8:30 p.m. start in a contest on FS1. The Cowboys took both meetings with the Aggies last season including a road win.
Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelley will have the call with Kevin McKinney on color.
ABOUT THE TEAMS
The Cowboys head into the game with a 5-10 overall record and a 0-3 mark in conference play after falling to San Diego State 80-75 on Saturday. Wyoming shot 58% in the contest against the defensive minded Aztecs for the second best%age against SDSU this season. Wyoming is shooting 46% from the field with opponents shooting 4%. Wyoming is averaging 71.1 points per game and are allowing 68.7 points.
The Aggies head into the contest with a 13-3 overall record and a 2-1 mark in conference play after falling to Boise State 82-59 on the road on Saturday. The Aggies are shooting 49% from the field this season and are shooting 42.8% from behind the arc to lead the nation this season.
ABOUT THE PLAYERS
The Cowboys are led in scoring by Noah Reynolds at 14.3 points per game. He missed Saturday’s game and remains in protocol as Wyoming has had eight players on the roster miss time this season. Hunter Maldonado adds 13 points per game and adds 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He became the Pokes all-time leader in starts on Saturday with 129 passing Fennis Dembo. He added 20 points against SDSU for his 25th game with 20 or more points in his career.
The Aggies have five players averaging double-figures this season and are led by Steven Ashworth at 16.1 per game. He has hit 58 threes this season and is shooting 53% from deep to lead the nation. Taylor Funk adds 13.6 points per game and is second on the team grabbing 5.7 rebounds this season.
ABOUT THE SERIES
Wyoming leads the all-time series 53-33 with the first meeting coming nearly 97 years to the date. Wyoming is 18-22 all-time in Logan including a win last season on the road.
