William “Bill” Eugene Kuntz Jr., passed away on Aug. 27, 2023, in Billings, Montana. He was born on Nov. 10, 1949, in Millersburg, Ohio.

While in school, Bill worked as a ranch hand. In 1969 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Bill served as a rifleman and was honorably discharged in 1971. His time in the Marine Corps left an indelible mark on him and defined the rest of his life.

After the military, Bill was a Florida highway patrolman. Leaving law enforcement, he returned to his true passion of ranching. He worked as a ranch hand and ranch manager until retiring in 2012.

Bill was a man known for his ornery good-natured teasing and laughter that endeared him to all, bringing joy to those around him. Fond memories abound of the times spent with Bill. He took great pleasure in selling his wife Janice’s delicious “Miss Janice’s Cookies” at the farmers’ market.

Bill was also a person of deep faith and integrity. He expressed his Christian beliefs through acts of kindness towards family, church, community and strangers.

Bill is survived by wife Janice Kuntz; son Sam Kuntz; daughter-in-law Gulsum Kuntz, dear friend Meryem Gultekin, Cathy and Brent Baily (sister-in-law), Ron Hart (brother-in-law), Kay and John Vandemark (sister-in-law), Kenny and Lita Hart (brother-in-law), Nancy and Kevin Hicks (sister-in-law), Jeff and Cindy Kraner (cousin), Helen Parker (mother), Debbie and Jim Witt (half-sister), and Pat and Tim Parker (half-brothers).

Bill was preceded in death by Chip Kuntz (son), William Kuntz Sr. (father), Edward Kuntz (uncle) and Shirley Latt (sister).

Let us remember his infectious laughter, his selflessness towards others, and his unwavering love for his family.

On Sept. 1, 2023, a memorial service will be held at the Bennett Creek Church in Clark, Wyoming. The service begins at 10 a.m.
