Robert Patrick Snodgrass of Glendale, Arizona, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on May 25, 2023. Bob was born on Dec. 31, 1928, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to Floyd and Bessie (Hollingsworth) Snodgrass. Bob grew up on a farm in the same town.

When Bob turned 18, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he worked as a weapons instructor.  Bob then moved to Chicago and began a career with Chicago Northwestern Railroad, first as a steam engine fireman, and then working his way up to engineer.  He worked there for over 25 years. Bob and his family then moved to Arizona where worked as the head of maintenance for a Honeywell plant in Phoenix. Even in his retirement years, he loved to keep busy.  Hobbies and interests included vintage aircraft, vintage cars, vintage trains, NASCAR, and old steam tractors.

Bob spent many summers in Powell and came to love it as a second hometown (and a Powell Tribune subscriber to the very end of his life).  In particular, he enjoyed time with his Powell Masonic Lodge brothers David (Astrid) Northrup and Clyde Holtzman Sr., among many other friends he made here working agricultural and other jobs.

He married his first wife, Elaine Kaszubowski, in 1955.  That union was blessed with two daughters, Karen (Dave) Corlew of Arlington Heights, Illinois,  and Kristie (Brian) Sullivan of Powell. The couple had 37 happy years together until Elaine’s death. In 1992, Bob married Sharon Gerig Yoder. They remained married for 31 years, until the time of his death. Bob is survived by his wife Sharon Snodgrass, and his daughters. He has eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as Sharon’s three children and their families.

Funeral services, including military honors and Scottish Rite ceremonies with his Masonic Lodge members from Arizona and Wyoming, was conducted on Saturday, June 17 at Glencroft Retirement Center in Phoenix.  Interment was in a local veterans cemetery there.
