October happenings at the library

October is all about the Night at the Library fundraising event being put on by the Park County Library Foundation. Night at the Library is Friday, Oct. 13 from 6-9 p.m. at the Cody Library. All proceeds benefit the Park County Library System. This first-ever event will be filled with fun, books, food, games and drinks. This event is for ages 21 and over, tickets are on sale at the Powell Library and Hickory Street Catering and online at the Park County Library website. The event will feature five themed book stations with themed food, drinks, games and fun. Costumes are encouraged — dress as your favorite character from our five books.

The books are “Friday Night Lights,” by H.G. Bissinger, “Casino Royale” by Ian Fleming, “The World of Downton Abbey,” by Jessica Fellows, “Open Season” by C.J. Box and “Real Murders” by Charlaine Harris.

This is a wonderful chance to party after hours at the library, see the library transformed into the pages of a book and taste some wonderful food and drinks. Make sure and get your tickets and support the library.

Park County Library is pleased to announce our first ever Halloween Costume Swap at all three libraries. This is open to all ages; all exchanges are free.
