Lanette Carter went to join her beloved husband Larry, family and their much loved dogs in heaven on Sept. 8, 2023.
Born in Bozeman, Montana on March 15, 1955, to Newell and Daisy Sessions, she was the youngest of four children. Lanette’s true passion laid with her students at Parkside Elementary School where she taught kindergarten for 30-plus years and touched countless students lives.
Lanette is survived by her sister Mikki Martinez of Thermopolis, numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, parents Newell and Daisy Sessions, siblings Philip and Carol, nieces and nephew Candy, Veronica, Scott and Felicity.
Per Lanette’s request, there will be no services held and her ashes are to be scattered with her husband Larry’s ashes and the ashes of their many beloved canine companions at their favorite fishing spot in the Bighorn Mountains.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Powell Animal Shelter/Caring for Powell Animals at P.O. Box 504 Powell, Wyoming 82435 would be greatly appreciated.
