Katherine “Kitty” Marie Bughman, 62, of Casper, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023.

She was born to Varnard (Red) and Judith (Judy) Wintermote in Kittery, Maine while her father was stationed there with the Air Force. Shortly after she was born her family moved to Riverton, Wyoming, where she spent most of her childhood. During her childhood she lived in various places throughout Wyoming as her father moved around for work. After she moved out she moved to a few other towns in Wyoming for work before settling down in Casper, Wyoming, where she met the love of her life, James (Jim) Bughman. She married Jim on July 1, 1989 in Casper and they stayed married for 33 years until her death. They had three kids, Andrew, Cody, and Emily Bughman.

Kitty worked for 20 years in insurance before she and her husband started a diesel mechanic business, Grizzly Maintenance Service. Kitty had a very active role in running the business. That time of her life really defined how the family would grow and built the network of friends that still love her to this day. Kitty and Jim retired and sold this business in 2017, and have enjoyed retirement since.

Kitty has seven grandchildren shared between all three of her children and they were and still are the light of her life. She was a very caring mother that would do absolutely anything to help and protect her kids. She was a real fire cracker and had no problem letting you know what she thought if she believed you were out of line.

The family was able to spend time with her and give her time with her grandchildren before she passed and she said that she had had a good life and was thankful for it. The family will be forever grateful for this opportunity to say goodbye before they had to say goodbye.

Kitty was preceded in death by her father Red, mother Judy and brother Kelly. She is survived by her husband Jim, their kids Andrew (Katya), Cody (Tara), and Emily (Justin); her seven grandchildren; and also her siblings Vince, Lisa and Reed (Kimberly) Wintermote.

In lieu of flowers Kitty would like you to pay it forward, love your family, and work to be the best person you can be.
