Graveside services and burial of cremains will be held Saturday at 11 a. m. at Crown Hill Cemetery for pioneer Powell resident, Virginia Schock-Nelson, 87, who died Monday morning, Aug. 27 at the Powell Nursing Home.

Pastor Jesse Sauskojus will officiate at services. Cremation has taken place.

She was born Dec. 10, 1913, in Fairbury, Nebr., to Ora and Blanche (Logan) Wright. She moved to Powell when she was 1 year old to a homestead on the North End.

On April 5, 1934, she married Edward Schock. He preceded her in death in 1975. To this union were born two children, Bill Schock and Donna Schock Monroe.

In January of 1981, she married Henry Nelson, Jr. He preceded her in death in 1989.

She loved to fish, camp, garden, and spend time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Bill Schock of Powell; her daughter, Donna Monroe and husband George of Powell; a sister, Mary Ellen Burgener of Powell; brothers Wayne Wright and wife Clem of Arizona and Raymond Wright and wife Dorothy of California; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Wright, and daughter-in-law Betty Schock.
