Brian Edward Dalton passed away March 4, 2016, in Plains, Montana, after an 8 month battle with neuroendocrine cancer. He was 48.

Brian was born on August 25, 1967, in Powell, Wyoming, to Carlin (Cloninger) and Edward “Ted” Dalton.

He grew up in Powell, graduating from PHS in 1985.

Brian then received his undergraduate degree at UNLV. He went on to earn his Master of Physical Therapy degree, with high honors, from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Florida.

On January 18, 1992, Brian married the love of his life and best friend, Syrina Taylor.

Upon graduation in January, 2000, the couple and their children moved to Worland, Wyoming, where Brian was a physical therapist at Washakie Medical Center. In September 2003, Brian became Director of Therapy Services for Big Horn Basin Orthopedic Clinic in Cody and subsequently became a part of the Gottsche Rehab and Therapy team until May 2015. The couple then moved to Plains, Montana, to be closer to their children attending the University of Montana in Missoula. He continued to work as a physical therapist at Clark Fork Valley Hospital until his illness didn’t allow him to continue.

Brian was a well-known and highly respected physical therapist for 15 years. He enjoyed helping people recover and touched so many lives.

Brian had a great sense of humor and loved to visit and reminisce about his glory days. He had an impeccable memory.

Brian was an active follower and supporter of youth sports, as well as a passionate recreational baseball, basketball and football coach in the Cody area. He enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, fishing and hunting with friends and family. He was also a die-hard Denver Broncos fan.

Brian and Syrina had two sons, Evric and Alec, and a daughter, Jenna.

Brian was a loving husband and father, and his family will remember him as their sunshine on a cloudy day. He loved life and inspired the people around him.

Brian was preceded in death by his father Edward “Ted” Dalton.

He is survived by his wife Syrina Dalton of Plains; sons Evric Dalton of Plains and Alec Dalton of Missoula; daughter Jenna Dalton of Plains; mother Carlin Dalton of Powell; brothers Mike Dalton of Puyallup, WA, Pat (Sharon) Dalton of Riverton, Dan (Linda) Dalton of Powell; sisters Laurie (Ron) Sweet of Powell, Eileen (Mike) Campbell of Kennewick, WA and Anne-Marie Walton of Lake Stevens, WA.

A rosary service for Brian will be Friday, March 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Powell.

A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. A private interment service will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 961 Lane 8, the home of Laurie and Ron Sweet, at 3 p.m.

Memorial donations in Brian’s name can be sent to the Cody Soroptimist’s Lainey Cole Memorial Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 1914, Cody, WY 82414, to support cancer patients and their families.
