William ‘Bill’ Berryman

William “Bill” Berryman died Saturday, May 24, 2014, surrounded by his family at the Powell Valley Care Center after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 80 years old.

Bill was born March 17, 1934, in Powell to Edgar and Mary (Pennington) Berryman. He married Daisy Otte in 1956 and they later divorced. On Aug. 11, 1952, he married Charlotte Heimer in Cody.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy on two troop transport ships, the USS Fulton and the USS Randall during the Korean conflict, 1952-54.

He later worked as a lineman for Mountain State Telephone and Telegraph Company/Qwest until his retirement in 1992. He had a passion for buying and selling used cars. He enjoyed gardening and working with computers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Imogen McQuade, brothers-in-law Robert Nielsen and Jack Holcomb, sister-in-law Charlotte and his ex-wife Daisy Otte Carter.

Bill is survived by his wife Charlotte; three sons, Mike Berryman of Ralston; Chuck (Delia Lackey) Berryman of Lincoln, Neb.; Mark of Powell; daughter Lorita (Terri) Mayor of Chandler, Ariz.; grandsons Apallo and Josh Berryman; granddaughters Jo Ann Berryman and Leah Richards, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are two sisters, Dora Holcomb, and Anna Nielsen; brother Thomas Berryman and many nieces and nephews.

At his request cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Donations may be made to Powell Valley Care Center or the National Parkinson Foundation at www.parkinson.org.
