Wyoming Humanities (WYH) recently announced that Troy Rumpf has been selected to fill the new position of director of communications and marketing.

Rumpf had previously served as the director of public relations and marketing for Laramie County Community College. He has also served in a similar position with both Climb Wyoming and Laramie County Library System, bringing 20 years of experience to his role with WYH.

“One of the most important things we can achieve as a state humanities council is to spread the word about ideas and opportunities to engage in the formation of new, big ideas to help Wyoming during this challenging time,” says Shawn Reese, CEO for Wyoming Humanities.

“Troy’s enthusiasm, experience, and creativity are a perfect match for this position. We look forward to working with Troy in expanding and enriching the Wyoming narrative.”

With WYH continuing to operate as a virtual office with staff living across the state, Rumpf will work from Cheyenne.

“This position sincerely excites me,” he said. “I’ve collaborated with Wyoming Humanities previously and have always held the utmost respect for its mission. This organization is positioned to make such a tremendous influence on Wyoming and its people, and I couldn’t be more honored for this opportunity and to join the team on the journey.”

Rumpf also served on numerous nonprofit and artistic boards across the area, and owned and operated Morris House Bistro in Cheyenne for several years.
