WESTI Ag Days will take place Tuesday and Wednesday at the Worland Community Center.

The family-friendly event offers an evening youth career event in addition to educational sessions.

Topics include growing hemp in Wyoming, vesicular stomatitis, forage analysis, cover crops, soil health, horn fly management in cattle, brucellosis, grasshopper management, and crop and livestock insurance programs. Wednesday afternoon will feature workshops in agronomy, landscaping with native plants and private pesticide applicator education.

Don Day with Day Weather Network will provide a keynote speech at 10 a.m. Tuesday, addressing climate change theory and the effects on regional agriculture.

Teens and families can meet representatives from Wyoming colleges and agriculture industry professionals during Tuesday evening’s youth career event.

“It’s a great way to help youths think outside the box on how they can be involved in agriculture in so many different ways and start thinking about their futures,” said Amber Armajo, 4-H/youth educator in Washakie County.

The youth career event is free, and dinner is provided but preregistration is required. The full WESTI Ag Days schedule is at http://bit.ly/2020westi. For registration, questions or more information, contact Washakie County Extension at 307-347-3431 or washakiecounty@uwyo.edu .
