Posted

The American Legion Hughes-Pittenger Post 26 in Powell is honoring veterans at Crown Hill Cemetery again this Memorial Day. The Legion will conduct a community memorial ceremony at the cemetery starting at 9 a.m., followed by wreath laying at the Post facility at 10 a.m.

Those who would like to volunteer with placing grave flags throughout the cemetery, may join the post on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Volunteers will be provided with a map of the cemetery, the veteran names and locations per block, and enough grave flags for each veteran per block. Volunteers are encouraged to get their organization, group, church, friends and family involved.  For more information contact Jim Ross at 540-326-1985.
