The Wyoming Veterans Commission is continuing to look for a commissioner to represent the Big Horn Basin.
The vacancy is for the Fifth Judicial District, which consists of Park, Big Horn, Hot Springs and Washakie counties.
The commission meets quarterly or as needed to address issues relevant to all Wyoming veterans. It has a statutory duty of advising the governor and Wyoming Legislature on state and federal veteran’s benefits. Wyoming’s commission has oversight of the veteran’s services program, Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery, Military Records, Highly Rural Transportation Program, Wyoming Veterans Museum and Wyoming National Guard Museum.
Other vacancies exist for districts that include Laramie County and Sheridan/Johnson counties. Additionally, a tribal representative is being sought from Fremont, Sublette and Teton counties. To apply for a position on the commission, use the guidelines outlined at governor.wyo.gov/state-government/boards-commissions. All applications must be sent to the governor’s office. The positions will remain opened until filled.
