A Powell group is preparing to honor late veterans who lie in Crown Hill Cemetery.
National Wreaths Across America Day 2024 is Saturday, Dec. 14. The Powell American Legion Auxiliary and volunteers will place more than 400 sponsored wreaths on veterans’ graves at Crown Hill Cemetery to remember and honor their service. Wreaths Across America ceremonies will occur around the country at more than 4,600 participating locations in all 50 states.
There will be a short wreath laying ceremony at the American Legion Wall of Honor, 143 S. Clark Street in Powell, at 11:30 a.m. Coordinators and volunteers will then proceed to Crown Hill Cemetery for veteran grave wreath placement. Any community member who would like to help is welcome.
The American Legion Auxiliary appreciates and thanks everyone who has purchased wreaths, and would appreciate volunteers to lay the wreaths at Crown Hill Cemetery.
