VA could learn from dedication girl scouts troop shows to vets

Dear editor:

I would like to recognize the dedication of three women who run Girl Scout Troop 1540 in Frannie, including Sarah Pierce, Helen Johnson and Jessica Rodriguez. Having led a troop myself, I know how much time and energy goes into leading one and these ladies are doing a fantastic job, even doubling the size of this troop in a year.

These three ladies and the young ladies they lead show more recognition to the veterans in our small town than the Veterans Administration ever has. If the VA was as caring and dedicated as all these ladies, my daughter and I would not have had to fight for eight years to get my husband’s hearing aids and my husband and veterans like him would not have to wait for months on end just to get approval to get appointments and the medical care they need. The VA could learn a thing or two from all these ladies.

To all these ladies for taking time to recognize my husband and the veterans in our community I say, Thank you, keep up the great work and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
