USDA conditions are grossly unacceptable

Posted

Dear Editor:

In response to Judi Blymyer’s letter in Tuesday’s Tribune entitled “Schroeder wrong to withdraw from lunch program,” I must respectfully but strongly disagree with her assertion as follows: “Mr. Schroeder, I find this cruel and inhumane treatment to possibly deny low-income LGBTQ kids a free lunch.” This is astonishingly false or mistaken information.

The facts are these. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed grossly unacceptable conditions upon school districts all around the nation and  has threatened them with loss of funding if they do not comply with demands that they implement the federal government’s woke LGBTQ agenda. The annual amount for Wyoming is approximately $40 million. Our state leaders will not comply. Gov. Gordon, State Treasurer Curt Meier and others have worked with Superintendent Schroeder to find funding within our own state to ensure that every child will receive school lunches. All children will be fed, and Wyoming will take care of it without federal government interference, which is bullying.

Sincerely,

Carol Armstrong
