Truth, delusion and the world

Dear Editor:

People are saying we have eight years to 12 years left unless we, as a planet, change our ways. But Jesus said that no one knows the day and hour when the end will come.

I am a straw-sipping, carnivorous, heterosexual, white male Christian of European descent who teaches people martial arts. And according to the media, I am the most dangerous thing on this planet. All the fingers are pointing at me.

All I see in the newspapers, TV and on the internet is about taking meat away, taking straws away, and taking guns — all to save us from ourselves. They’re even passing laws that I have to speak in a certain way because my words might offend somebody.

I’m supposed to believe that gay marriage is normal. Masculinity is toxic to society. There is no longer male and female; there are 112 possible genders now. A man can become a woman and a woman can become a man. There are people running for president who want to pass laws that say white people must pay reparations to people of color. Murdering the unborn is an acceptable choice.

All these statements are lies. If I don’t accept these lies as truth then I am intolerant, racist and evil. If I went along with these things I would be a liar and a coward. As Christians, we must hold on to what God says is true and just.

It looks like the Lord has already sent that “strong delusion” (II Thessalonians 2:9-12): “… Because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
