Ready to give the audience a blast from the past, The Rewinders are back in action and will be playing at the Park County Fair.

As their name suggests, the four-man band hailing from both Cowley and Lovell will be performing songs from past decades and will choose a mix of the tunes throughout the years to play. The band mostly performs covers of country Western songs alongside classic rock tunes.

“Fair audiences usually are quite diverse,” said lead guitar player Bret Savage of Lovell. “[It] makes our playlist work well because it can appeal to a wide range of musical interests.”

Alongside Savage, The Rewinders are composed of Chris Allen of Lovell on the drums, Mike Holzer of Lovell on bass and Wade Brost of Cowley on rhythm guitar. The Rewinders themselves have been a group since 2006. With a few changes in membership along the way, they’ve been playing through the decades for about 15 years now. 

The Rewinders can be found performing on the free stage beneath the pavilion on Thursday from 5 to 5:50 p.m. and on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.  

Alongside this, on Saturday the Cowley Boys will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. on the free stage as well. The group consisting of Savage, Dave Banks, Kasen Banks, Brett Crosby and Schuyler Hinckley of Cowley will be playing more country and classic rock favorites. 

“There’s a lot of stuff that would be familiar to everybody,” Savage said about both The Rewinders and the Cowley Boys. “We have some good dance tunes and it should be a good time on the free stage.”

Audience members are invited to bring both their nostalgia and their dancing shoes.

“I just think it brings us all together,” Savage said. “My favorite thing about performing is seeing people enjoy live music.”
