Dear Editor:

I hope you read the post from our own officer Matt Brilakis in Tuesday’s Powell Tribune. If you didn’t, I would highly recommend you find a paper or read it online.

We have worked with officer Matt several times as business owners and have found his advice to be so helpful and knowledgeable. He, and all of his fellow officers here and around the country are not the enemy. They are here to protect those of us who abide by the law and see to it that those who don’t make those same choices are placed where they are given another chance to do the right thing.

I have seen officer Matt work when he wasn’t feeling well and he is no different from any of his peers. They go above and beyond to make sure we are safe. If you pass one of these officers on the street or in person, please take a minute to wave or to thank them.

They may have had a very difficult day and that could turn that into a day where a simple “thank you” was exactly what they needed.
