Sally Kathleen Kippenberger Gregory

Sally Kathleen Gregory went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2022, at Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody, with her son and husband at her side. She was 81 years old.

Sally was born Jan. 10, 1941, in Okeene, Oklahoma, to Dr. Louis H. and Catherine A. Kippenberger. She was raised in Guymon, Oklahoma. Sally attended school in Guymon and graduated from Saint Mary’s of the Plains High School in Dodge City, Kansas. 

Sally attended dental hygiene school at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she met and married a dental student, Dr. Jim Alexander. That marriage lasted 10 years and produced two adoptive sons, Charles M. and James M. Alexander.

In 1985 Sally married her present husband, Roy Gregory, and was married 38 years until her death.

Sally worked as a dental hygienist for many years. She loved art and playing piano. She was a hard worker and started Dirty Sally’s gift shop in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. At one time, she owned the Wagon Wheel restaurant in Shell, Wyoming. She and Roy also started Dirty Annie’s gift shop in Shell.

Sally attended Faith Community Church in Powell.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years Roy Gregory; her sister Lou Ann Batey of Oklahoma City, her son Charles M. Alexander and wife Gulla of Laramie; her grandsons, Charles A. Alexander and wife Danielle of Cody, and Joe Alexander of Cody; granddaughters, Rachel Alexander and husband Sodoo of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Silja Alexander of Laramie; three stepchildren, Stan A. Gregory and Roy W. Gregory of Laramie, and Gwen Morgan of Wichita, Kansas; and five great-grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by her father Dr. Louis Kippenberger, mother Catherine, her brother Jim Kippenberger, and her son James M. Alexander.

Sally was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held  at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Faith Community Church in Powell. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
