Rodeo, indoor flea market headline Clark Jubilee

Deadlines approaching fast

The annual Clark Jubilee will offer a parade, an indoor yard sale and a rodeo at the Clark Pioneer Recreation Center on Saturday, June 12. The theme is “Small Community/Big Heart.”

While the public events are still a couple weeks away, sign-up deadlines are quickly approaching. Cattle event rodeo participants must register between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday or Saturday. Those interested should contact Jerry Hill at 307-645-3203.

People who want to rent a table for the Clark Mart — a.k.a. the indoor yard sale — have a deadline of Monday. They need to contact Nancy Woolard at 307-645-3282.

The Clark Jubilee will kick off on Friday, June 11, with a dance in the rec center from 7-10 p.m.

Then at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12, participants in a 5K fun run will leave from the rec center. The parade line-up is then set for 8:15 a.m. at the Clark fire station, with the procession heading out at 9 a.m.

“Noting that it’s all in fun, residents and those from other areas like to joke that there usually are more persons watching the line than the number of entrants,” organizers said.

After the column makes its short, circular trip from the rec center to a point approximately a quarter-mile off, the Clark Mart will open at 9:30 a.m. It is to remain open until approximately 1:30 p.m.

The adult rodeo events will begin at 10 a.m. with a warm-up period; the kids’ rodeo will begin at 11:30 a.m.

“There is some question as to whether this Jubilee will be the 34th or 35th annual program,” Jubilee organizers say. “However, an ad hoc body of volunteers and pioneer residents plans to share memories soon to determine the exact date of this historically important community extravaganza.”
