Robert Laverne Weathermon, 83, passed away on Feb. 1, 2023, with family by his side.

Robert was born in Bridger, Montana, on Jan. 8, 1940, to Robert Leroy (Roy) Weathermon and Flora Mary Olheiser. He graduated from Powell High School in 1958. Robert grew up tinkering with radios and held small jobs such as setting pins at the Powell bowling alley. In 1961, he joined the National Guard and was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington, for a year of active duty.

He married Mary Jane Larsen on Feb. 8, 1964. Soon after, they moved to Laurel, Montana, where he took a job at the Cenex refinery. He started as a “pumper” responsible for loading tank cars and gas trucks and eventually moved into the role of Transfer and Storage Supervisor, retiring after 38 years of service. Robert and Mary Jane spent 54 happy years together until Mary Jane’s passing Nov. 1, 2018.

Robert is survived by his children: Barbara “Bobbi” of Laurel, Montana; Lonnie (Pyper) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Ronnie (Martina) of Basel, Switzerland; and four grandchildren: Derek (Ivy), Drew, Jenna and Jaycee.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and siblings Allen, Marvin, Marsha, Irvin and Richard.

Robert was baptized and confirmed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Bridger, Montana, and later reaffirmed his faith in Trinity Lutheran Church where he attended regularly with his family.

Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and School or to organization of your choice.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Billings, Montana. Viewing and visitation is at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. Military honors will take place following the service on Feb. 10. Interment will be on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel, Montana.
