Cody police say they’re investigating a report of a Monday morning robbery at the Holiday Inn.
Witnesses told police that, shortly after 5 a.m., a masked female in a black hooded sweatshirt entered the front door of the hotel and approached a front desk clerk.
“The suspect demanded money as she lifted the side of her sweatshirt to expose a holstered pistol on her hip,” Cody police recounted in a news release. “The clerk placed money in a bag and gave it to the suspect. The suspect then walked out the front door and left in an unknown direction.”
Officers responded to the 5:09 a.m. call within three minutes and searched the area, but didn’t find the woman.
“There are no suspects at this time,” police said.
The release described the female as approximately 20-30 years old, with a medium build, standing somewhere between 5’3” and 5’7” tall. In addition to the black hooded sweatshirt, the woman was also wearing black pants and a black gaiter-type face mask.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Cody Police Det. Sgt. Trapp Heydenberk at 307-527-8700.
