NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
Northwest Rural Water District (NRWD) of Cody, Wyoming will conduct a public meeting at 4:00 PM, local time, on January 20, 2020, in the conference room at the District’s offices at 526 Stone Street, Cody, Wyoming. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the following project. The project, NRWD Hydrant Replacement and Corrosion Protection Improvements, will involve the replacement of approximately 365 aged, deteriorating, and failing flushing hydrants, and the incorporation of cathodic protection to approximately 54 newer flushing and fire hydrants. The failing hydrants are resulting in significant water loss and pose a potential public health issue.
At the meeting Northwest Rural Water District will present preliminary design of the proposed project and will discuss the estimated cost of the improvements and the plan for funding the improvements. A preliminary plan of the improvements, cost estimates, and the funding plan can also be reviewed at the District’s office at 526 Stone Street, Cody, Wyoming. Contact Mike Mackey, District Manager with any questions at 307-527-4426.
Based on current cost estimates, Northwest Rural Water District plans to borrow $2.5 million from the Wyoming Drinking Water State Revolving Fund administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. The loan will be repaid from the customers’ debt retirement portion of their monthly water bills. There will be no increase in the customers’ monthly water bills to pay for this loan. The loan terms will be 2.5% interest and 20 years.
Written comments are also welcome. Send written comments to Hydrant Project, Northwest Rural Water District, P. O. Box 2347, Cody, Wyoming 82414. Written comments must be submitted by 5:00 PM, January 20, 2020.
