Experience the night sky, see the Milky Way, and touch a meteorite. John Miller from Pearl Observatory will be visiting the Park County Libraries to help kickoff Summer Reading programs. His Starlab Portable Planetarium can house around 30-50 people inside at a time, with a projector that immerses its viewers in outer space.

Miller will be at the Meeteetse Library on Thursday, June 1 at 10 a.m. and will move on to the Powell Library later that afternoon at 2 p.m. The Cody Library will host the Planetarium on Friday, June 2 from 10 a.m.-noon.

Miller’s mission is to bring the wonders of the universe to schools, camps, scouts, libraries, senior centers, etc. 

“Since starting Pearl Observatory 30 years ago, my programs have provided over 100,000 kids and adults with fantastic hands on science knowledge,” he said in a release.

Ages 3 to adult are asked to sign up for a 15-minute session to go inside the planetarium and learn about the planets, stars and constellations in our solar system.
