Pilot rate increase

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) hereby gives notice of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co.’s (MDU or Company) Application for authority to increase its Renewable Energy Rider Pilot Rate 15 (Rate 15) from $0.09 to $0.12 per block.
The Commission, having reviewed the Application, its files regarding MDU, applicable Wyoming public utility law, and otherwise being fully advised in the premises, FINDS and CONCLUDES:
MDU is a public utility as defined by Wyo. Stat. § 37-l-101(a)(vi)(C), subject to the Commission’s jurisdiction pursuant to Wyo. Stat. § 37-2-112.
On March 18, 2020, MDU filed an Application requesting an increase in the charge per block under Rate 15 of $0.03 per block for a total charge of $0.12 per block. Total program revenue through December 31, 2019, of $388. Total program costs for 2019 were $475, including the RECs purchased in 2020 to cover subscribed amounts through December 31, 2019, for a net under-recovery of $154, with interest, or approximately $0.0301 per block.
As of February 2020, 22 customers were participating in the program. The impact to participating customers is dependent on the number of subscribed blocks. A customer subscribing to ten blocks will see an increase in their monthly Rate 15 bill of $0.30.
This is not a complete description of MDU’s Application. MDU’s Application is on file at the Commission at its offices located at 2515 Warren Avenue, in Cheyenne, Wyoming and may be inspected by any interested person during regular business hours or online at: http://psc.wyo.gov/.
