PHS foreign students to speak Thursday

A trio of foreign students studying at Powell High School will speak to local members of the American Association of University Wyoming (AAUW) on Thursday evening.

Sanne Flateby from Norway, Greta Artursson from Sweden and Justin Vanderbeek from Belgium will share their experiences here in the United States with AAUW members.

The public is invited to attend the program, which begins at 5 p.m. at Northwest College’s Intercultural House.

Flateby, Artursson and Vanderbeek “will each present glimpses into their studies in their various countries and how that compares to what they are finding here in Powell,” said Claudia Fisher of AAUW. “They will also give us some insight into their individual families and culture. They will then take questions from the audience.”

“It will be an informative hour for us to become aware of how young people in their teens gain from such an opportunity,” Fisher added.

Before the program, the members of AAUW will have a short business meeting starting at 4:15 p.m., followed by refreshments.
