Patricia Joann McPherson, 88, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at Spirit Mountain Hospice in Cody, after a long fight with congestive heart failure, kidney disease, and diabetes.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to William and Hyla (Johnson) Keller. She attended and graduated from Kampsville High School in 1948. She was valedictorian of her class of eight kids. In her yearbook, her notable characteristic was “being short and mighty,” true to her and the rest of the Keller family. While small in stature, she was big in personality and love!

She moved to Powell and soon met the love of her life, Lindy McPherson. They were married on June 17, 1950 in Billings, Montana. Together they had four children: Michael, Linda, Kelly, and Jerry. Lindy and Pat were married for 51 years, until death do they part. Pat never stopped loving him.

They lived in Powell, Glendive, and Casper, and also in Dallas, Texas, with the majority of their lives being spent in Casper. She moved back to Powell after Lindy passed away.

She worked as a bookkeeper and medical transcriptionist for Dr. Kattenhorn and Dr. Deiss in Powell, Dr. Range in Dallas, and Dr. Roussalis in Casper.

She enjoyed working in her garden, knitting, watching/listening to the Wyoming Cowboys and Denver Broncos play football, cooking and family reunions. She loved her fried chicken, a slice of pie and a cup of coffee. The coffee was always hot and ready for anyone who stopped by.

She loved to go to Riverton with her sister Janice and hit the slot machines. She had great luck and always seemed to come home with more money than she left with.

She had a great sense of humor and was always ready to hug and kiss her loved ones. She loved to entertain and would start preparing her meals days ahead so she could enjoy whatever company was there. She loved having big family meals in which her grandkids and great-grandkids were filling her house with laughter and noise.

She was preceded in death by husband Lindy McPherson; daughter Linda Fitch King; great-granddaughter Darby McFall; son-in-law Cyrus Muecke; her parents William and Hyla Keller; sisters Marge Wheeler, Shirley Kysar, and Janice Fritz; and brothers Jerry, Bob, and Kenny Keller.

Survivors include son Michael (Nancy) McPherson of Yakima, Washington; daughter Kelly Muecke of Powell; son Jerry (Bonnie) McPherson of Tyler, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Spirit Mountain Hospice.

Services will be held on Friday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. at Faith Community Church, with burial of cremains to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
