Three Park County commissioners are up for reelection in 2022. One incumbent has filed, one commissioner said he intends to file and the third reportedly is not running again.
Park County Commissioner Dossie Overfield made clear she is running for reelection on the first day of the open filing period. However, Commissioner Joe Tilden reportedly is not running for reelection in 2022.
Commissioner Lloyd Thiel said he will file for reelection on May 17.
“I plan to run,” Thiel said. “I’ll file on Tuesday.”
Park County opened its filing period Thursday, May 12, for local candidates to officially proclaim their candidacies for county offices in the primary election on Aug. 16, 2022.
Several people have filed with the county clerk elections office. Candidates have until May 27, 2022, to file with the county clerk.
In addition to Overfield, Angie Johnson, Scott Steward and Keith Dahlem filed their paperwork to run for Park County commissioner. All of the current commissioner candidates identify as Republicans. Three commissioner seats are available.
The first group of candidates are:
Overfield: a commissioner incumbent and current Park County commission chairman
Johnson: currently serves as clerk treasurer for the town of Meeteetse
Steward: current Park County sheriff who is not seeking re-election to that position
H. Keith Dahlem: retired lifelong Cody area resident, former manager of Sleeping Giant Ski Resort.
As of May 16, two candidates had filed for the county attorney position. Two people filed to run for county coroner and two filed for clerk of District Court. Patra Lindenthal, who currently holds the position of Park County clerk of District Court, is retiring.

Eric Crumb (Republican) filed his candidacy for Park County coroner.
Emily Denney (Republican) filed her candidacy for Park County coroner.
Bryan Skoric (Republican), incumbent, filed his candidacy for Park County prosecuting attorney.
Leda Pojman (Republican), former Park County deputy attorney, filed to run for Park County prosecuting attorney.
Darrell Steward (Republican) filed to replace his brother as Park County sheriff.
Colleen Renner (Republican) filed for reelection as Park County clerk.
Barbara A. Poley (Republican) filed for reelection as Park County treasurer.
Debra Carroll (Republican) filed to run for Park County clerk of District Court. Carroll currently is first deputy clerk of the District Court.
Logan Christie (Republican) filed to run for Park County clerk of District Court. Christie works for the Park County attorney’s office Youth Services division.
Pat Meyer (Republican), incumbent Park County assessor, filed to run for reelection.
