NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
The Northwest Rural Water District of Cody, Wyoming, will conduct a public meeting at 4:00 PM, local time on Monday, June 3, 2019 in the District’s conference room at 526 Stone Street, in Cody. The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the following project. The NRWD 2020 System Upgrades project will include the replacement of approximately 2,500 pressure regulators located in individual meter pits system wide. These pressure regulators are 22 to 25 years old and are in various stages of decay and many are leaking. The project will also include the replacement of 25 year-old pumps in the South Fork Service area, and flow control valves in the Garland and Lovell service areas. These pumps and valves are at the end of their useful life. The final part of the project will include the construction of three sections of pipeline which will result in completing loops in the South Fork, North End, and Lovell service areas. The completed loops will result in increased pressure and flow in these areas and will eliminate bi-annual flushing at six dead end points on existing distribution pipelines.
At the meeting, the Northwest Rural Water District will present preliminary design of the proposed project and will discuss the estimated cost of the improvements and the plan for funding the improvements. A preliminary plan of the improvements, cost estimates, and the funding plan can also be reviewed at the Northwest Rural Water District Office at 526 Stone Street in Cody. Contact Mike Mackey at 527-4426.
Based on current cost estimates, Northwest Rural Water District plans to borrow $2,300,133 from the Wyoming Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. The loan will be repaid with funds from the debt retirement portion of customers’ monthly bills. There will be no increase in monthly fees to cover repayment of this loan. Loan will be 2.5% interest for a term of 30 years.
