Northwest College’s Orendorff Building to undergo infrastructure systems replacement

Posted

The Orendorff Building at Northwest College, which houses most of NWC’s administrative offices, will be closed to the public this summer as the 70-year-old building undergoes an update to vital building infrastructure. Offices and personnel affected by the closure will be temporarily relocated to other locations throughout campus.

Funding for the work was approved by the Wyoming State Legislature during the 2022 session and is provided through the Capital Renewal Process of the Wyoming Community College Commission. The project will consist of upgrading and replacing the mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP) and electrical systems, installing fire sprinklers and life safety components, and renovating the restrooms to meet new ADA codes.

Design work has been completed by Evergreen Dwellings in Cody. Groathouse Construction, also located in Cody, will serve as Construction Manager at Risk on the $4 million project. It is expected to be a year-long project.

Visitors to campus during this project should confirm on the website where college services will be relocated for the duration; signage will be posted on building entrances. College services are expected to transition out of the Orendorff Building no later than June 3. The college will be posting pertinent updates to the website as needed.

The relocated services include Academic & Career Advising, Academic Affairs, Admissions, the Business Office, Communications & Marketing, Financial Aid, Foundation and Alumni, GEAR UP Wyoming, Human Resources, the Humanities Faculty Offices, International Student & Scholar Services, Mail Services, the President’s Office, and the Registrar.

See the college website at nwc.edu/orb for more details.
