The Wyoming Legislature’s draft supplemental budget does not include any funding for college capital construction, said state Sen. R.J. Kost, R-Powell.
The colleges in Wyoming will essentially get no construction funding from the state, although Western Wyoming Community College is slated to receive money to replace a malfunctioning heating, air conditioning and ventilation system that had become a health issue, Kost said.
A year ago both houses of the Wyoming Legislature approved an allocation of $10 million for a new student center building at Northwest College as part of a college capital construction bill, but the money was caught up in a conference committee spat between the House of Representatives and the Senate and never appropriated. The two bodies walked away without agreeing on any capital construction funding.
