Kick off spring with Park County Libraries as we host our first ever Spring Forward Expo on March 9 starting at 10 a.m. at all three libraries. This free event highlights the Park County Seed Libraries and is a great opportunity to pick up seeds and information as you prepare for spring. Stop by the Powell Library on Saturday, March 9, pick up some seeds, donate some seeds and access great information. Attend the Garland Canal or Tree Health presentation and get entered into a drawing for a seed library prize.
The Friends of the Powell Library will be having a Huge Book Bag Sale on March 22-23. Please come and help raise funds for the new Powell Library as we clear out the basement to prepare for the new library. Bring a bag and fill it up for $3, on Friday, March 22 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m.-noon.
On Thursday, March 7 at 6 p.m., join us for the presentation on “The Garland Canal — 114 Years of Irrigation: Blood, Sweat, and Water,1908-2022” presented by Homesteader Museum Director Brandi Wright.
On Thursday, March 14, the Powell Library will once again be celebrating PI Day with a Pie Day Auction. Donate and bid on a pie to help raise funds for the new Powell Library. Drop off the pie donations on March 13 or before 12:30 p.m. on March 14. The PI Day Auction will be from noon-6 p.m.
Family Movie Night will be on Thursday, March 14 at 6 p.m., come join the library for a fun family movie, popcorn provided.
Sign up for our Tuesday Book Discussion and join us on March 12 at 2 p.m. where we will be discussing “Beneath a Scarlet Sky” by Mark Sullivan. We also offer an evening book discussion on Tuesday, March 26 at 6 p.m. We will be discussing “Animals in Translation” by Temple Grandine and Catherine Johnson.
Join us for Adult Craft Night on Thursday, March 21 at 6 p.m. to make Popsicle Stick Bunnies.
Powell Library is offering Tech Tuesday with Chris on March 18. Sign up for a one on one session with the Park County Library IT administrator who can help you with your device problems.
The Powell Library will also be celebrating National Ag Day on Tuesday, March 19, with a fun ag quiz and displays in the library.
Join us on Thursday, March 28 at 6 p.m. for a presentation by Mary Louise Wood, University of Wyoming extension coordinator and 4-H titled “UW Extension and You.”
Families join us for Homeschool Hour on Monday, March 18 at 2 p.m. Come to the library and connect with other homeschool families and focus on learning about Italy for the month.
We have a lot of fun activities planned for teens after school. Every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. join us for Young Adult Craft time and every Friday at 2 p.m. for early release activities. Join us Friday, March 29 for Nintendo Switch Day. Stop by the library, check out our social media pages or calendar on our website to learn more about the activities for the week.
Powell Library has lots of fun filled activities for children. Join Ms. Renee every Monday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for Baby and Toddler Time and every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for Story Time. Sign up to read to a dog on March 27 at 3:30 p.m. Join us for Cup Stacking on Friday, March 15 at 11 a.m. Lego club will be on March 19 at 3:30 p.m. Join us for Homeschool Hour centered around learning about Italy on March 18 at 2 p.m.
Also, if anyone is homebound the library offers Books Beyond Boundaries, a service to deliver books to homebound residents. Contact the library for more information.
In March, stop by every Thursday from 1-3 p.m. for the Powell Library Friends Book Sale. Stop by and take home as many books as you can and support the Powell Library. Also, if you’re interested in helping out with book sales and supporting the library consider joining the Friends of the Library.
