The 4-H Foundation/State 4-H Office scholarship committee recently awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships to 4-H youths attending the University of Wyoming or a Wyoming community college this fall.
Approximately $37,500 was awarded to first-time winners this year, said Steve Mack, Wyoming State 4-H Foundation director. Past Ella Schloredt scholarship recipients, with a grade point average of at least 3.0 and meeting academic progress, are eligible to continue receiving the scholarship for up to four years. Mack said 14 continuing scholarships — ranging from $1,800 to $2,400 — were awarded for the fall 2021 academic year, including to Emily Sweet of Powell.
The Lynette Wallace scholarship is awarded to a Big Horn or Park County student for $750. This year’s winner was Jordan Mautz of Manderson and the winner of the Linnabur award of $750 for students from Park or Big Horn County is Blake Mautz, also of Manderson.
The winner of the W.D. Whitmire Leadership award of $500 went to Cambree Miller of Cowley.
