Members of Powell’s American Legion post, local veterans and anyone interested in learning more about the Legion are invited to attend a Saturday barbecue.
The dinner begins at 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hughes Pittinger Post 26 building, 143 S. Clark St. Attendees should bring a side dish or a dessert, while the post will provide burgers.
During the barbecue, post leaders plan to discuss plans to revitalize the Legion’s programs for local children and youth. Powell’s post is currently involved in multiple youth programs, including Boys State, Girls State and an annual oratorical contest while supporting the Powell Pioneers Legion Baseball teams.
