Two freshmen on the Northwest College women’s basketball team were voted postseason honors by Region 9 coaches.
Adela Smutna, from the Czech Republic, was named to the 10-member all-region team in balloting by coaches; Lady Trapper freshman Samiyah Worrell from Fountain, Colorado, finished 11th among vote-getters for the All-Region 9 team.
Another third freshman on Camden Levett’s 2019-20 squad was named to the Region 9 all-defensive team: Raquel Turner of Aurora, Colorado, was one of five players singled out by the region’s coaches for her defensive play.
Both Smutna and Worrell averaged 13 points in scoring for the season. Smutna, Turner and Worrell will all return to the Lady Trappers for their sophomore year.
