John Anthony Hernandez, son of Joe and Lupe Hernandez, was born in Powell on Nov. 3, 1969. John was a great friend, an amazing family member, and a loving father to Paris, Kyler and Zaden. He got to be the caring grandpa to London, Ellie and Brooklynn, who he would have loved to watch grow into beautiful women.

John was blessed to have his life partner Nicole Maizonet with him until departed. John had three siblings: Joe, Lydia and Lisa, who he loved very much. John was also a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews.

With his brother and sisters, John and his siblings were always the life of the party. John was the kind of person with whom you could always have a drink, and with his siblings, they were the life of the party together. John always had great advice, and he could always make you laugh if you needed it with a joke or two.

John enjoyed sports, especially his favorite teams: the Miami Dolphins, Wyoming Cowboys and Wyoming Mustangs. You could always find him wearing their apparel with pride and attending the games! John also loved taking his family to the Bighorns to fish the streams and creeks for brookies. John also loved to make delicious food for his family and friends. You would often find him in the kitchen or on the deck with his smoker and grill.

Although John was a strong person, he was caring and a fighter. That was evident with the passing of his father, Joe, In 1999. John found himself being stronger for his mother and siblings, as well as himself. John’s family and loved ones will carry his strength and love for him in their hearts. He will now be watching over us all alongside his father Joe.

When you think of John from now on, know that he was loved and cherished and will continue to be for all eternity.

Funeral services will be held at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in Powell, on Aug. 3, 2021, at 2 p.m.
